Dedicated to Protecting the Chipola River Watershed....
"The purpose of the Chipola River Partnership is to protect and enhance the Chipola River and its watershed. It will be a source of grant funds for improvements requested by property owners.
The Partnership will assess, identify, implement and monitor goals and objectives approved by individual landowners to produce a comprehensive river and watershed management plan that protects socioeconomic and environmental interests.
Specific projects may include stream restoration, road improvements, nutrient management, implementation of and recognition for agricultural "best management practices", etc. as well as the study of water quality, flora and fauna identification and inventory and assessment of potential contamination sources.
The plan is to organize a partnership whose goals and objectives are directed by our membership. The intent is to create funding sources for projects selected by the membership. Bylaws will be created by the membership and all duties and responsibilities will be defined by the membership and will require the landowner's knowledge and consent." - Gary D. Latham, Watershed Coordinator, Chipola River Partnership
